All roads lead to Baku

November 2011. When Azerbaijan won the Eurovision song contest I thought nothing of it. I had a tenuous relationship with Baku - having visited it for a few days work back in 2007. It is the only place I had ever seen cars driving at speed along a pavement in rush hour, (apart from in American movies of course).
